Matthew graduated from Ohio Northern University and promptly moved to Washington, D.C., with the goal of using his English degree to scratch a political itch. Thankfully, he landed a job at a daily publication covering health care reform news on The Hill and across the U.S. He began as a staff writer and eventually rose to the level of editor. There, he budgeted stories and supervised content under a merciless daily deadline. He also had his own column examining the effects of Obamacare on health care disparities, small businesses, and other aspects of the U.S. infrastructure. Eventually, he grew sick of winters and decamped for sunny Los Angeles. He is a voracious film watcher (the more obscure, the better), reader (the more pretentious, the better), and hiker (the shorter, the better). In the next ten years, Matthew can see himself continuing to work on his own creative writing projects, enjoying some cocktails at the beach, and being home in time to walk his dog.
