There were times we laughed
But hardly cried
Though it still hurt
To say goodbye.
Questions remain unanswered
About the mysterious cancer
That ravaged your being
And left us reeling.
Why did you have to go?
Why? Why?
We miss you so.
We miss you so.
Anger rages
Throughout the ages.
It’s so unfair –
Why don’t you care?
We were all there that day.
The sands of time stopped
All the way.
Watching the last grain drop
As you gasped your last breath
And embraced death,
Our hearts ripped and tore
To their very core.
Why did you have to go?
Why? Why?
We miss you so.
We miss you so.
Anger rages
Throughout the ages.
It’s so unfair –
Why don’t you care?
Though we can’t grab hold
Of the bigger plan,
Our hearts grow cold
Because we don’t understand
The great things
You have in store.
Will we soar with wings?
Please show us more.
Why did you have to go?
Why? Why?
We miss you so.
We miss you so.
Anger rages
Throughout the ages.
It’s so unfair –
Do you still care?
